Rap-Up.com || Fugees Reunion Album Officially Dead

Pras tells Billboard.com that the much delayed Fugees reunion CD is now off the table completely. “We went in the studio and recorded a couple records that were incredible,” he said. “But, to put it nicely, it’s dead. Me and [Wyclef Jean], we on the same page, but Lauryn [Hill] is in her zone, and I’m fed up with that shit. Here she is, blessed with a gift, with the opportunity to rock and give, and she’s running on some bullshit? I’m a fan of Lauryn’s, but I can’t respect that.”

Glad to hear Pras finally coming clean. We love us some Lauryn Hill, but we all know she is the reason we’ll never see another Fugees album. Too bad.

Can’t the songs at least LEAK?? Pras talked about INCREDIBLE RECORDS, Geez man I wanna hear that. I don’t expect anything from Lauryn anymore, until I see a cd cover and an official release date and tracklist, any Lauryn come back will be considered false rumors from me.

it’s a common thing that happens that when one member of a group becomes a major success as a solo artist they become selfish and proud because they believe they got success on their own,having a “they’re not hot but I am” mentality. I wouldn’t be surprised if fergie did it to blackeyed peas or beyonce did this to destiny’s child too.

^^^^It doesn’t even sound like that. it sounds like Lauryn is messed up period, and needs an intervention. We should also not expect another lauryn hill album either. chick is mentally drained.

I agree with Twa that it doesn’t sound like a “selfish” mentality. Plus Lauryn isn’t the only star, Wyclef has been extremely successful as a solo artist as well as a producer. I don’t think Lauryn is messed up though. I’m one of those who bought her UNPLUGGED album, and if she was crazy, the album wouldn’t make sense, yet it is profound, thoughtful, very well written. I think she’s just not on the same page as them artistically.

Lauryn is just on another level then those guys its nothing personal its not that she is mess up or anything, Lauryn and wyclef had an affair when the fugees first came out and that affair really hurt her. I say affair because he was still married when him and Lauryn were together, and that whole situation caused Lauryn alot of pain so she wrote about it when she became a solo artist, ex-factor and I use to love him listen to the lyrics. Now she has healed from all that foolishness back in the day and the direction of her life is different she not into reliving the fugee era anymore, she has been going in a different direction for a while now… she is articulately on a whole nother level, gotta love her for not being caught up in the game of the industry and for not doing what others want her to do she is living her life. she told her story a while a go.

WHat I think Pras said in an article was that Wyclef and Lauryn were dating while Wyclef was engaged to an haitian woman (his current wife) and NOBODY knew about it, neither Pras nor their payroll nor Lauryn. And that is why it messed Lauryn up, when she found out that Wyclef had been dating another woman that he was to marry, and she had been some kind of “jumpoff for the Fugees tours” to Wyclef. Pras said in Rolling Sones that Wyclef and his lies were the reason why Lauryn “lost it” and the group broke up.
