Snoop to Release New Album in March 2008
Snoop Dogg will release his ninth solo LP, Ego Trippin’, in March 2008. The first single, produced by Shawty Redd, titled “Sensual Seduction,” is an ode to the early eighties. The catchy up-tempo showcases Snoop’s talents in a completely different capacity, unlike anything we have ever heard from the rap veteran. “Sensual Seduction” features Snoop playing both the singer and the rapper, crooning about fleshly desires through melodic verses. On it, Snoop’s vocals are reminiscent of the signature “talk box” machine, inspired by the funk sounds of Roger and Zapp.
The video for the single was directed by Melina (Eve’s “Tambourine,” Ludacris’ “Money Maker”). The entertaining video takes viewers back to the early eighties and pays homage to some of Snoop’s favorite artists like Roger Troutman, Rick James, Prince, and others from that time. Taking a cue from the era when music was all about having fun, the video showcases video vixens channeling the Mary Jane Girls and Vanity 6, while Snoop plays the leading man.
The video for “Sensual Seduction” will be premiered on “TRL” on Wednesday, November 28th.
