Rap-Up’s 2007 Holiday Playlist

Since the holidays are here, we thought we’d share our 5 favorite hip-hop/R&B holiday songs of the moment. Let us know what’s on your playlist.

5. “This Christmas” – Chris Brown

Chris does the Donny Hathaway classic justice with his rendition off the soundtrack to This Christmas. The movie wasn’t too bad either.

4. “Sleigh Ride” – TLC

One of the few hip-hop/R&B holiday songs that stands the test of time. It makes us wish TLC was still making records.

3. “8 Days of Christmas” – Destiny’s Child

This song always gets us in the holiday spirit. Although BeyoncĂ© probably wouldn’t stand for no “crop jacket with dirty denim jeans” from Jay this year.

2. “Santa Baby” – Run-DMC, Mase, Puff Daddy, Snoop Dogg, Onyx, Keith Murray, & Salt-N-Pepa

Hip-hop’s all-stars come together for the best Christmas rap song.

1. “All I Want For Christmas Is You” – Mariah Carey

Classic. This is one of the few songs that you don’t get tired of hearing year after year. No wonder it’s currently #9 on the most downloaded songs on iTunes.

  1. Girlwonder

That “This Christmas” version is AWFUL. Chris has too much of a high pitched whiny voice to do that song. There are much better Christmas renditions of that song than him, and much better better Christmas songs in general.

Rap-Up, you are slipping if you think thats better than a Luther Vandross Christmas song.

  2. TIvsTIP

Girlwonder, they said these are their fav songs of the moment. You should respect other people’s opinions even though you may not agree.

  3. The Wolfkin

TivsTIP take a chill pill. you need to learn that we can disagree without disrespecting. Just because Girlwonder doesn’t agree with the list doesn’t mean that Girlwonder is disrespecting Rap-up. The whole purpose of the response system to get our responses.

All GW said was that RU was slipping. I’ve heard worse insults in kindergarden.

  4. Have_you_ever

That Chris Brown cover song is not very good.

  5. Rich

The Mariah song is such a classic, every year I hear it EVERYWHERE, and it does so well. It’s just ‘hot tamale’ as she would say. The Destiny’s Child and TLC songs are really good too. Merry Xmas everyone

  6. Rihanna
