Zune Presents N.E.R.D. Live at the Roosevelt
Microsoft Zune hosted a private event Wednesday night at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood. DJ Samantha Ronson spun music from Pharrell collaborators Kenna and Madonna, while guests including Snoop Dogg, Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, and director Brett Ratner hit up the open bar before N.E.R.D. took the stage around 11 p.m.
Pharrell, Chad, and Shay put on an electrifying show which included several songs from their new album Seeing Sounds such as “Anti Matter,” “Kill Joy,” “Everyone Nose,” and “Spaz.” Lupe Fiasco joined the group onstage performing backflips as well as Star Trak signees Chester French, who rocked out to the second single from Seeing Sounds. “Spaz” can currently be heard in the Zune “Ignition” campaign.
N.E.R.D.’s set also featured favorites such as “Rock Star,” “Maybe,” “Lapdance,” and “She Wants to Move.” Socialite Nicole Richie danced onstage with Pharrell during the closing number.
Zune filmed the show for Zune Marketplace and it will be available for download within the next couple weeks. Seeing Sounds arrives in stores and online June 10th.
