Two rap titans will battle each other on August 19th. Nelly’s fifth studio album Brass Knuckles will compete against Young Jeezy’s The Recession.
Nelly has proven to be one of hip-hop’s top-selling artists with a track record of over 40 million albums sold worldwide. Young Jeezy’s first single “Put On” is currently No. 47 on the Billboard Hot 100 and his last album, 2006’s The Inspiration, sold over a million copies.
Who do you think will move the most units and rule the charts?

As of right now, i can see Jeezy selling more. His song with Kanye is doing very well, especially on the R&B charts.
Nelly can’t seem to catch a break with getting a single that wil chart.

Nelly’s publicist already said Nelly has been pushed back to Sept 16 because he’s getting ready for a Promo tour and wraping up some other things for the album! So Jeezy should have that date to himself…then again who knows if Jeezy won’t get pushed back! I don’t recall any artist coming out on their original drop date for some time now!

young jeezy of course.

Nelly because of his loyal fanbase. Sweatsuit was great.
July 8th, 2008 at 3:38 pm
there is no way nelly would lose if they shared da same date.. stepped on my Js just got number one on 106 & Park so its gonna do well on da charts no doubt

I think Jeezy gonna sell more, Def Jam promotes him well. Nelly might sell, but none of his material is really worth buying anymore.
July 8th, 2008 at 5:52 pm
Let’s be real here, DefJam vs Universal
That should be the competition cause it depends on which label is willing to put out the money to promote their artist.

I don’t think this is going to happen..because I saw Jeezy’s cd was slated to come out July 29 and I’m hearing thru the rumor mill that Nelly’s date has been changed as well.
July 9th, 2008 at 11:34 pm
jeezy’s cd wont come out on august 19th cause amazon is not a reliable source. they will put release dates on everything and eventually, the movies, cds, or games will be pushed back. nelly on the other hand has delayed his cd for over a year now so i think it’s a wise time to release his cd before people will go crazy.
