Star magazine reported on Wednesday that Sean “Diddy” Combs and his Bad Boy Records artist Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura were engaged, but Diddy and Cassie are denying the claim.

“Contrary to tabloid reports, there is no engagement. This was a complete fabrication,” states Diddy’s rep.

“This blog is simply to clear up a rumor. The newest one is that I am engaged. That rumor is completely false and I have no clue how it came to be or why it got so big, but it’s not true, real talk. I am not engaged. Whether or not you’ve heard about it, thank you for your time,” Cassie writes on her MySpace blog.

Diddy ended his 10-year relationship with model Kim Porter in July 2007. Cassie is finishing her second album, scheduled for release this fall.
