Ne-Yo premiered the video for his second single, “Miss Independent,” last week. Before his appearance on “FNMTV,” Ne-Yo gave us some insight into working with his video co-stars Trey Songz, Gabrielle Union, Lauren London, and Keri Hilson.

“I want to give a shout out to Trey Songz who came and got in the video with me. Shout out to Gabrielle Union, Lauren London, and Keri Hilson. I called many, many more people than that, but I guess you really start figuring out who your friends are when you need a favor,” the singer/songwriter told Rap-Up.com.

When asked if it was hard to focus while filming around such beautiful women, Ne-Yo replied, “It was difficult because I was doing a lot of flirting and it was very, very hard to focus. They’re all very cool, all very professional—even more than I was. I’m cracking jokes and whatnot and they’re like, ‘OK, we’re in the scene.’”

Ne-Yo’s third album Year of the Gentleman will be available on September 16th.
