The songs have to have signature sounds people are used to because you can't erase the sound that made them famous in the fist place. Also MJ & WH would have to promote the songs by performing live on stage, TV, & the web. In my opinion that's why Madonna, Prince, U2, & Tony Bennett are still successful selling albums & doing live shows.
