Akon will face trial on criminal charges after he threw a teenage fan offstage at a concert last summer near Poughkeepsie, NY. Another concertgoer said she suffered an injury when the boy landed on her.

The 35-year-old singer asked for the jury trial during an appearance with his lawyer in Fishkill Town Court on Wednesday. He’s due back in court for trial on December 1st unless a deal is negotiated before.
