Lil Wayne Leads 51st Grammy Nominations
Lil Wayne leads the nominations for the 51st annual Grammy Awards with eight nominations, it was announced Wednesday in Los Angeles. Coldplay earned seven nominations; Jay-Z, Ne-Yo, and Kanye West have six apiece; Jazmine Sullivan scored five nods; T.I., Lupe Fiasco, Jennifer Hudson, and Adele garnered four each.
Coldplay’s Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends, Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter III, Ne-Yo’s Year of the Gentleman, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss’ Raising Sand, and Radiohead’s In Rainbows will vie for Album of the Year.
Record of the Year includes Adele’s “Chasing Pavements,” Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida,” Leona Lewis’ “Bleeding Love,” M.I.A.’s “Paper Planes,” and Robert Plant & Alison Krauss’ “Please Read the Letter.”
The Best Rap Album nominees are Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter III, T.I.’s Paper Trail, Jay-Z’s American Gangster, Lupe Fiasco’s The Cool, and Nas’ Untitled.
Winners will be announced on February 8, 2009 during the live ceremony held at the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles.

What is the deadline because i’m surprised that T.I.’s “Paper Trial” got nominated? The album is incredible but it only came out two months ago.

i wanted T.I to win rap album but now i know Lupe has been nominated, I dont know. That album was pretty fantastic.

Beyonce’s ”Me Myself and I” at ”Best Female R&B Vocal Performance” i’m surprised that the song is nominated, it vas released in 2003.

it was the live DVD version that was nominated not the regular one (B-Bay Experience or something), and i think T.I.’s album came out on the deadline(think it was september 30th, don’t crucify me if i’m wrong).

and i don’t think the album has to have actually came out, i think it’s just the final version that needs to be sent to them by the deadline.

All due respect given to Ne-Yo, but Alicia Keys should have been nominated Album of the Year instead of him….and she would’ve won. But Coldplay will win…that’s a great album. Also, T.I. will take home Best Rap Album over Lil Wayne (Sells doesn’t matter…it’s about who has the best material).
