« John Legend Gives T-Pain the ‘Green Light’Sneak Peek: Jazmine Sullivan – ‘Lions, Tigers, & Bears’ »Kelly Rowland Splits From Mathew Knowles![]() Kelly Rowland has officially ended her relationship with Mathew Knowles and Music World Entertainment.
The 27-year-old singer will still be represented by Music World as a member of Destiny’s Child, but Beyoncé’s father will no longer manage her as a solo artist. “Mathew Knowles has been a positive influence in my career. I have had great success under his guidance—both as a member of Destiny’s Child and with my solo projects. Although we have decided to part ways professionally, the Knowles family and the entire Music World Entertainment team will always be my family,” Rowland said in a statement released through her publicist. Mathew Knowles also issued a statement: “After a very positive meeting between Kelly Rowland and myself, we have amicably agreed to end our professional relationship. My company, Music World, will continue to manage Destiny’s Child as a group. As an artist Kelly has incredible talent and I only wish her the best. We will always be family first and foremost, and as a dad I only have love for Kelly.” There were whispers late last year of a rift between the two camps. Although she is rumored to be signing with 19 Entertainment (Jordin Sparks, Carrie Underwood), no official announcement has been made. The R&B diva’s sophomore album Ms. Kelly was released in 2007. It has been certified gold in the U.S. She is currently signed to Columbia Records. You can leave a response, or trackback from your own site. 12 CommentsLeave a Reply

finally, i have been saying this for too long.
Matthew doesn\’t have time for any of his artist but beyonce.
Now it\’s michelle and mario turn to move to another manager.
Don\’t get me wrong, i have much respect for mr. Knowles. But when you have a star of beyonce caliber, only her your costumers will be asking for because she sells. Which in turn leads to that your other artists will not get enough opportunities, that it might seems like you are favoring beyonce. So in order to prevent that from happening, you might as wel drop all your other clients and focus on your mega star.
I still love the whole knowles family (include michelle and kelly), the way they worked theirself to the top earned my respect.
Love & peace.

This just made my day! THANK GOD! Now if only Michelle Williams would split from him. I’m happy that Kelly will finally get the chance to be treated like a real artist.

She can be so happy to be away from the crazy Knowles. I hope Jay is following her and leaves the arrogant Knowles too.
Although I\’m not a Kelly fan, I think she made a really good decision.

GOOD FOR HER! I love all of D.C. but truth be told, Kelly and Michelle never got their chance to shine coz Matthew never cared about promoting anyone but his daughters. Now let\’s see what she can do.
