T.I. appeared on “Last Call with Carson Daly” on Monday and discussed a phone conversation he had with Chris Brown, who’s currently under investigation in a domestic assault case involving Rihanna.

“I spoke to him today. He cool. I guess he a little concerned about his situation, but he’s still the same Chris,” said the ATL rapper. The two acted together in the upcoming crime thriller Bone Deep. When asked if he knew the details of the situation, Tip replied no.

The King of the South is facing his own legal trouble and is scheduled to serve a year in jail beginning next month. His advice for the young star? “I told him this too shall pass. People just gotta remember, we celebrities and we’re entertainers, but we still human. Don’t expect for us not to make mistakes because we will.”

T.I. and Rihanna collaborated on the hit “Live Your Life,” which peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

T.I. did the right thing by not choosing sides. We dont know the full story so no one should be verbally attacking Chris the way they have. Judging by his personality, Chris would never do something like that. No matter what the outcome, I will always support Chris and Rihanna in everything they do.
