Rihanna's Father: 'There is Some Bruising'

Rihanna’s father is speaking to the media about his daughter’s fight with boyfriend Chris Brown.

When he first heard the news that Brown had allegedly assaulted his daughter, Ronald Fenty told PEOPLE, “I didn’t believe it.”

He went on to describe the “Umbrella” singer’s condition saying, “There is some bruising. She will be alright. I think so.”

So far, Rihanna has remained silent on the situation, but that may soon change. “At some point, she will speak out. I hope she will stand up for women all over the world,” said the 55-year-old salesman and clothing designer.

The 20-year-old pop star is currently in her hometown of Barbados spending time with friends. While Fenty said he wouldn’t tell his daughter what to do, he did say, “If it were me, I’d move on.”
