Rihanna’s father is supporting his daughter after hearing the news that she has reconciled with Chris Brown.

“Whatever road she chooses, I’m behind her,” Ronald Fenty told PEOPLE by phone from Barbados. He learned about the couple’s reunion through the media.

“We are a family who stick together even though we are apart,” added the 55-year-old salesman.

Fenty called his famous daughter a “smart girl,” but when asked what he would tell Brown as a father, he replied, “I have no comment on Chris Brown.”

The young stars have been spending time together at one of Diddy’s homes in Miami Beach three weeks after Brown allegedly assaulted Rihanna in Los Angeles.
