The last celebrity we expected to see on Twitter, let alone the computer, has joined the popular micro-blogging craze.

Mariah Carey is the latest pop star in a growing list that includes Diddy, Solange, and Erykah Badu to Twitter. The Twitter service is a free social messaging utility for staying connected in real-time and can be accessed through a PC or mobile device.

Under the username MariahHBF, Carey starting using the program from her BlackBerry on Friday to update fans on her new album and even share some moments from her personal life. A selection of her tweets are below.

TRYING to fall back asleep but now that I figured out how to twitter from my bberry its like my new lil toy. Lol
