Rap-Up.com || Beyoncé Selects Third Singles, Shoots Videos

Beyoncé has wrapped two more videos for the third simultaneous singles off her latest album I Am… Sasha Fierce.

Pop radio will get “Broken-Hearted Girl” from her I Am… disc, while Sasha Fierce’s “Ego” will be released to urban stations. The pop star has already recorded a remix to the latter with Kanye West.

Beyoncé co-directed a video for “Ego” with her choreographer. “My goal for [the 'Ego' video] is simplicity,” she tells EW. “In ‘Single Ladies,’ I saw this old tape of Bob Fosse’s wife, and I used that as inspiration. I thought in this world, with all the technology and everything that’s going on, to strip everything down—great idea. So I kind of did the same thing, but glossy and black, for ‘Ego.’”

Don’t expect to see the famous “Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)” animatronic hand in the “Ego” clip though. “I didn’t have the Sasha Fierce hand [in the video],” she laughs. “But I have it on the tour. It’s actually even more wild—I have to figure out how I’m going to perform with that hand!”

Beyoncé will embark on the European leg of her I Am… world tour in late April.

Those are some of the best songs on the album. Hopefully these do well. I could have sworn “Halo” was gonna be a huge hit, but I guess not.

“Halo” is an awesome song and it’s a mystery to me why it hasn’t been more popular. I remember reading at first that she was doing “Smash Into You” and “Video Phone” next. Which I think is a better choice than “Broken-Hearted Girl” and “Ego”. And as for a video anthology…I doubt we’re getting one. There’s no real money in making music video’s – so go ‘head girl, I’ll see you on tour B.

halo is a beautiful song, one of her best (and the video with michael ealy don’t hurt either). and i love ego. but oh well just have to see how it does.

I really wish Beyonce would’ve gone the direction of the song “Sweet Dreams” making the album style around it. As you can tell it stands out completely from all the other song on the album. It’s a sound that she’s never done before, kind of futuristic and techno like. I’m surprised I’ve never heard anyone bring that song up. I initially thought “Sweet Dreams” would’ve been the first single when it first leaked. I think it would’ve done very well. Maybe she’ll do that sound on the next one. Any way, I wish the next singles were “Sweet Dreams” and especially “Disappear” which I think is one of the most beautiful ballads Beyonce’s ever done! “Broken-Hearted Girl” is growing on me, though I’m still not so sure about “Ego.”

Her image and music productions are misaligned. She is off the mark majorly and seems to keep shooting in the dark.

THERE IS A LOT OF ASSUMPTION ABOUT BEYONCE’S “STAR POWER” I personally think acting has hurt her more than helped. And she is nothing without shaking and gyrating. Watching her sing Halo is boring comparing to watching paint dry. People also assumed If I Were A Boy was gonna be a hit too, but again it’s given her toooo much unearned credit.

Sorry but she is playing herself.
