Rap-Up.com || 7 Questions for Se7en

Crossing over is hard to do, but when your name is Se7en, luck is on your side. The Korean pop star makes his debut in the States with his Lil’ Kim-assisted single “Girls” from his first English album. Relaxing with his manager in a Midtown office overlooking New York City’s Times Square, Se7en dishes to Rap-Up.com about getting up close with the Queen Bee, his craziest fan encounter, hobbies, and which girls he adores.

1. Your first single is called “Girls.” Who are the three hottest girls in the music biz right now? Beyoncé, Alicia Keys, and Rihanna

2. What was it like having Lil’ Kim seduce you in the video? It was cool; it was an honor for me. I like her music and her style.

3. What’s the hardest part about learning English? Actually, there are a lot of problems with Korean and English. The grammar is so different. Pronunciation and accents are the hardest things.

4. What are your favorite American foods? I love all kinds of food. We just ordered pizza. I love everything!

5. Why has it been difficult for Asian pop stars to cross over into the U.S.? I don’t know; I never thought about that ’cause there’s like one or two who tried before. They did it like five or 10 years ago. If you try hard with the right team and the right promotion, it’s gonna happen.

6. What do you like to do when you’re not working? I like to play golf, video games, poker…and sleep! [Laughs]

7. What has been your craziest fan encounter? When I was staying in China, I booked a room at the hotel. Somehow some fans got the room right next door, so when I went out, they followed me for 24 hours. I was kind of afraid, especially when I took showers [laughs]. It was crazy!

He like Video Games? cool I wanna play with him and beat him(and of course go out with him ~_^) I really like Se7en and want him to succeed in the states. I hope he get more exposure from all of the music channels(although my faith in seeing him will be fuse and B.E.T as much I don’t like the channel I want him to be notice in this country) I’ll support you always (Choi)Se7en.
P.S.Beyoncé anit shit, Alicia Keys better than both of them, and Rihanna is alright.

Hhahaa lucky you guys got to talk to se7en and I like the title that you guys came up with for article so ya se7en is pretty amazing and haha he always says beyonce, crazy fans this days >.> xDD I hope he really does make it, he deserves it! I have never met any artist like him whos put so much passion and hard work into his music and that luvs his fans so much and Iam a trilingual person so i listen to all different kinds of music and I have never met anyone else like him this guy is different google him ppl if you dont know who se7en is ^^

se7en has the most potential to make it here. but he does need a good team and decent music to back him up. he has the vocals, the dance moves, the looks, everything he needs to succeed, i just don’t like the songs they’ve given him. they’re lacking and not very “se7en”. but YG has said that this debut isn’t so much about topping charts but more about getting his name out there. so best of luck to him. and i can’t wait to hear what he has in store for his fans.

Korean and English are really different, I agree. I’m trying to learn Korean right now but it’s really hard. But keep at it and learn more English so you can connect with your fans and create more! Rihanna isn’t that great and neither is Beyonce. Every one of those girls is married or taken now too. XD Asian fans are pretty crazy, but I don’t see why he should be so afraid. A lot of his fans are so nervous around him that I am sure they wouldn’t have the courage to do anything too dastardly.

I dunno man, I think something switches on in a fangirl’s mind once they reach a certain level of awe – like the panicky sort of awe, like it turns into hysteria and all they can do is scream and cry. I mean, when you see fan girls mob someone, I don’t think they would normally do that in their everyday lives.
meaning…there is a fangirl in all of us who takes over our bodies when we meet a celebrity. The fangirl phenomenon! The vengeful fangirl spirit that searches for innocent awe-strucken normal people and then takes over their bodies, gets rid of the conscious mind, and attacks the celebrity (out of envy?! maybe the fangirl spirit was a failed celebrity before it died) while the human-side witnesses in terror as their hands claw at the celeb they admire so much. “WHY AM I DOING THIS?! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!” translates into “AAAAAAUUGGHHH” as the fangirl spirit and human battle for control of the body. muahahahha!!

Yeah, so I also love Se7en. And all this came to me because I, who hasn’t been awestruck by a celebrity yet, realized that in the presence of Se7en, who I have just sorta discovered on Youtube [I heard the name a couple months b4+like 3 songs and searched him again. 7=fave number and his name is awesome so I didn't forget it! Woot4me with the crap memory], I might be…awestruck. I hope I wouldn’t cry, that’d be embarrassing. I’d either say nothing or something really stupid and rambly.
I’m gonna find out more about this guy anyway. Hope he gets famous in America! (without being like those perve singers. ‘Bed rock’ #*##(@#@*&^*!!)
