Rap-Up.com || Erykah Badu’s ‘Part 2’ Gets Release Date

After delivering a baby girl in February and tweeting about it, Erykah Badu is giving birth to a new project: her sixth studio album.

Badu makes her return to music on August 18 with New Amerykah, Part 2 (Return of the Ankh), Rap-Up.com has learned. The effort is the sequel to last year’s New Amerykah, Part 1 (4th World War).

Named after the Egyptian hieroglyphic character meaning “eternal life,” Ankh is more spiritual and emotional than its predecessor. “Part 2 would be the other group of songs which are more right brained and emotional if you will,” the singer told the Austin American-Statesman in March. “They fit together like a puzzle sonically, how they sound, how they feel.”

I’m looking forward to it.. I mean, hopefully it ain’t so crazy where I have to think about what the song means for two years, but I always like her lyrics and delivery

I don’t wanna get too jazzed because she tweeted that she didn’t know if it’s lyrically what she wanted to say at the time.. so hopefully her heart’s in it or we could be waiting another 5 years before we get a beautiful work of hers again..

I think Ms.Badu can’t do another BADUIZM or MAMA’S GUN.She is not the same person and her NEW AMERYKAH IS ONLY GOOD JOB BUT NOT PERFECT.
She have got bad producers at this time not because they do wrong music but because they do music not for her.
She need to use REAL INSTRUMENTS AND HER VOICE.
She didn’t know if it’s lyrically what she wanted to say at the time and I know that will be music (nu pop soul) album not musicaly album like her first and second.
She forgot what she do the best and I am scared of her she can’t remember that.

New Amerykah was good but it is another comercial album on the street not another genius work like Mama’s Gun.

New Amerykah part 1 was good with Honey, The Healer, Amerykahn Promise and My people but rest was only a song…Digital Girl was Analoge but seh can’t be good anymore.
