Rap-Up.com || Amerie Asks ‘Why R U?’ on New Single

Amerie has selected a first single and lined up a video director for her new album, In Love & War.

The R&B singer has chosen “Why R U?” as the lead single off her first album on Island Def Jam. The song was produced by The Buchanans, Rap-Up.com has learned. The Buchanans helmed “Crush” off Amerie’s last album Because I Love It, “Hip-Hop Star” from Beyoncé’s debut album, and “What More Can I Say?” off Jay-Z’s The Black Album.

A video for “Why R U?” will be shot later this week in Los Angeles with director Ray Kay (Christina Milian’s “Us Against the World”).

Amerie’s fourth studio effort is due this summer.
