Rap-Up.com || Video: M.I.A. Champions Her Cause

Tamil refugee M.I.A. brought attention to the plight of her people in Sri Lanka on HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher.” The “Paper Planes” rapper got emotional at one point when speaking about the horrific experiences she endured while leaving her country.

“This is the first human catastrophe that’s happened since the Obama time,” she said. “We kind of have to pay attention to what’s going on and talk about why the American public hasn’t been able to get the right information.”

i kno i’ll prolly get slammed for this but why does everyone expect for america to fix every country’s problems? i think it’s great that she’s trying to spread awareness but i almost feel like she expects Obama to do something about all of this. we can’t come to every country’s aid. they’re gonna have to come to some mutual agreement and resolve this on their own.
