Despite earlier reports, Avril Lavigne will not be joining Lil Wayne for the most-awkward duet of the year.
Rolling Stone had hinted of a collaboration between the pop-rock singer and hip-hop martian, but a representative for the 24-year-old “Sk8er Boi” hitmaker denied that she had collaborated with Weezy.
“Avril did not collaborate with Lil Wayne,” her label representative told The Canadian Press on Monday.
Although the album will not feature Avril, Lil Wayne’s Rebirth is scheduled to include appearances from Fall Out Boy and Kevin Rudolf when it arrives on July 21.
