Jay-Z to Ink Deal with Beyoncé’s Label?![]() After buying back his remaining album from Def Jam for a reported $5 million, Jay-Z could be making a move to be closer to his wife.
HITS Daily Double reports that Hov has been in discussions to take his Roc Nation label under the Sony umbrella, which is home to Mrs. Carter. Beyoncé is signed to Columbia Records, a division of Sony Music. The couple would be under the same roof. There have been sightings of Sony CEO Howard Stringer and Jay-Z’s Roc Nation partner Jay Brown in Los Angeles and New York, leading insiders to believe that Roc Nation will land at Sony Music. Further proof that the deal could materialize is the fact that Epic Records President Amanda Ghost is managed by Roc Nation and Brown, who has worked as an A&R executive at Def Jam under Jay-Z, according to HITS. An official announcement could be made soon. Jay-Z announced his departure from his longtime label Def Jam last week. If the new deal goes through, he will release his highly-anticipated eleventh studio album The Blueprint 3 on Sony Music. I gave Jay-z and Beyonce my demo yesterday! I met them backstage and he said is going to listen to it!
If it’s promising he’ll give me a call or pass it around.
I’m so nervous.
Cross thumbs for me!
I really want this!
