Rap-Up.com || Ashanti & Nelly Celebrate ‘Wiz’ Opening

Ashanti was joined by her family and friends, including beau Nelly, at the opening night party of “The Wiz” at K Lounge in New York City on Thursday (June 18). Ashanti is starring in the Broadway musical, which runs June 12 – July 5 at the New York City Center.

“Ashanti holds her own as Dorothy, particularly in solo numbers performed, ‘American Idol’-style, downstage center in the spotlight,” writes Entertainment Weekly. “As for her dancing, well, she doesn’t ease on down the road so much as clod-hop through it.”

GO ASHANTI…im so proud of you I have been a fan since day one and its nice to see you have definetly once and for all prove the haters wrong that you could sang(they wasn’t going to let rihanna,cassie,j lo, or britney play dorothy)…as for your dancin keep goin girl..you’ll get there!!!…and yes I know they wouldn’t let j lo, cassie, or britney play dorothy anyways because they arn’t black but im just makin a point to people with sense only…lol
