I don’t understand how this cat blew up so quick.
Like 6 months or more ago, I was writing a track to the “Replacement Girl” instrumental by some dude named Drake. Didn’t know anything about him.
Next thing you know, he’s writing music for all these artists, reportedly dating Rihanna, and on every rap remix. I also found out he was (is still?) on the cheesefest afterschool drama “Degrassi High.”
Not to be a hater but … I don’t get it. If someone can let me know why this guy is so hyped, I’d appreciate it.

He makes good music for any artist no less someone who is unsigned. Catchy without being corny commercially viable music. He’s tight with Lil Wayne and Trey Songz pre hype. There may be a lot of great lyricists on the bubble but few that actually make good commercially viable music. Currently based on the So Far Gone and Comeback Season he makes better songs than a lot of full fledged stars these days. If he can keep up the creativity and passion that are on these tapes then he has the potential to outshine them all. No less being able to go back and forth between rapping and singing without a Diddy, 50, Ja Rule (I shouldn’t be doing this) voice.
As far as I’m concerned only Trey and Drake are allowed to do it without me giving the slant eye like “please stop.”

He’s an amazing actor if you guys have been a fan of the TV series Degrassi…from the get-go when I heard his music…say about 3 years ago I knew he was gonna be big. But I thought it was just gonna be in Canada. But its great he is poppin out here in the U.S.
What makes him different is that he can rap. He raps with serious and clever lines. Something a lot of people dont do too often or as frequently now a days. Not only does he rap…he sings….good! He dosent need auto-tune to cover up his voice, because he has an amazing voice.
And not to mention we share the same name. Drake is amazing, he has the total package. Personality, talent, looks…he is very promotable…and he is approachable. like he said it takes time to sink in. So far he dosent have a big ego, and 3 years from now or the next time when I meet him again. I hope to say the same thing!

Will Smith is a legend, he started when he was very young. He captured the hearts of many generation up until this day, Will Smith is known world wide. From the UK…I do not even know who this Drake is, and what he does.
