Rap-Up.com || Are Janet and Jermaine Dupri No More?

One of music’s most high-profile couples, Janet Jackson and Jermaine Dupri, have reportedly called it quits.

Us Weekly reports that the superstar and music mogul have ended their relationship after nearly seven years. “His friends are telling people it’s over,” says an insider. “They have been moving in different directions for a while,” adds another source.

J.D. was noticeably absent from Michael Jackson’s memorial in Los Angeles on July 7. The two have not been publicly seen together for quite some time.

Jermaine produced several tracks for Janet’s last two albums. He even brought her over from Virgin Records to Island Def Jam before both parted ways with the label.

“You shouldn’t mix business with pleasure,” a mutual pal explains. “Janet felt their lives were too crossed and they should have kept things separate.”

Adding to that, the couple were opposites. “Jermaine likes to be out there, mingling with everybody, and Janet’s more shy.”

Janet has been spending time in L.A. with her family after her brother’s passing, while J.D., who recently got a tattoo of the singer as the Virgin Mary, has been DJing events across the country.

These two together were strange from the beginning. JD started talking trash a few years ago, running around dissin their relationship acting like he wasn’t sprung and not thinking about getting married when she was hinting at the opposite. She should have left him then cuz it was obvious he wasn’t feeling what she was. She’s not made the best choices when it comes to men and made worse music after she hooked up with him. Move on J!

He wasn’t there for her then, when she came out on stage in the white to make the announcement. You know then they weren’t together. I didn’t think they were meant to be anyway….And how come he didn’t marry her after all those years…?
