Mariah Carey's 'Memoirs' Pushed Back

Fans will have to wait to get their hands on Mariah Carey’s Memoirs.

The pop diva’s 12th studio album, Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel, has been pushed back three weeks to September 15, staging-rapup.kinsta.cloud can confirm. It had previously been scheduled for an August 25 release. There are reports that the album was not completed in time to make the original release date.

“Can’t wait to get bc in the studio and finish up tomorrow. My deadline is asap, so if I don’t tweet much for a few days.. Pls forgive me,” Mariah wrote in a tweet from July 12.

As recently as Tuesday morning, she tweeted that she was still in the studio finishing the project. A video for the “Obsessed (Remix)” featuring Gucci Mane will premiere Thursday.

The album will miss the August 31 cutoff for the 2010 Grammy Awards nominations and will now go head-to-head on the charts with Jay-Z’s Blueprint 3 (Sept. 11) and Kid Cudi’s Man on the Moon: The End of Day.
