Shakira and Pharrell are a match made in heaven. The two artists have married their sounds on Shakira’s new album She Wolf.

“I had the chance to collaborate with Pharrell who’s really great, very fast in the studio,” the Colombian-born singer told MTV News. “He comes up with ideas and he executes them immediately. I am a little slower in the studio.”

Shakira shared some insight on working with the in-demand hitmaker on the follow-up to 2005′s Oral Fixation Vol. 2. “He’s the man with the big strokes. He really comes up with great ideas. It was a great synergy. I learned a lot from him.”

Like any relationship, both partners brought something to the marriage. “It’s hard to split responsibilities or distribute the tasks. It’s like a marriage. How do you say exactly who raises the kids? Both do, mother and dad, if they’re together,” she continued. “You’re feeding the song, you’re seeing it grow, you’re making it turn into something great. I’m really happy with the outcome.”

Aside from Skateboard P, Shakira has collaborated with Wyclef Jean (“One More Time”) and John Hill on the set, due in October. Listen to the first single, “She Wolf,” here.
