Kelis gave birth to a healthy boy on Wednesday night after 67 hours of labor, it has been confirmed.

“Kelis gave birth to Knight Jones last night on July 22 around 9 p.m. Weighing a healthy 7.8lbs, the beautiful baby boy and his mother are doing wonderful,” read a statement from her publicist.

According to her rep, it was a natural birth and Kelis had been in labor since early Monday morning around 2 a.m. Knight was delivered in a New York City hospital with Kelis’ mother and sister in the room. This is the “Milkshake” singer’s first child and second for father Nas, who was not present during the child’s birth.

“Ok so I did it, he’s 7.8 pounds of the greatest stuff on earth,” Kelis tweeted after labor. “I was in labor for 3 of the longest most painful days of my life. I don’t understand when women say they don’t remember giving birth.”

But the pain was all worth it once she met her bundle of joy. “I will remember for the rest of my life. He’s kinda perfect btw.”
