Kanye Denies ‘New King of Pop’ Claim![]() Kanye West is not taking the crown from Michael Jackson anytime soon. The rapper denies every saying that he’s “the new King of Pop.”
In a typical all-caps blog entry on Friday, the outspoken West blasted the rumors, which had him saying, “First there was Elvis [Presley], then there was Michael, now in the 21st century it’s Kanye’s time to rule.” The false quote spread online, prompting him to issue a response after hearing it on Wendy Williams’ radio show. Kanye says this will be the last time he defends himself. Tweet You can leave a response, or trackback from your own site. 8 CommentsLeave a Reply

Gees, leave Kanye alone. And so much for you fans calling Michael to rest in peace. He can’t rest in peace with you people making up more bullshit about him.

I watched the Wendy Williams show the other night and i heard about that. I really did believe it at first bcuz I remember he said wanting to be called Martin Louis the King a few months back. I really hope it wuz just a rumor that he wants to be considered the new king of pop.

I don’t know why he’s so surprised. Sounds like some shit he’d say. Example: his name take on MLK
But, I am so glad he didn’t say that.

oh yeah that’s something completely out of character for Kanye West.. oh I’m sorry I meant to say he who shall henceforth be addressed as Martin Louis the King.. JR. (by force no less)
Kanye has always had a big head. He’s always said stupid stuff (even before Katrina), stuff he has no right to say. This man considers himself the greatest thing in music and there WERE quotes from him saying such in just about those words.
If he says he didn’t say it I believe him but if he thinks people are crazy for thinking he said it then he’s the one who needs a CAT scan.
