During an interview with Ne-Yo on Tuesday (video below), “Today” show host Hoda Kotb unknowingly knocked down Keri Hilson.

“You have this really hot new video that you do with Kanye West and another woman named Keri,” said Cobb. “You [and Kanye] are such big stars. How did this happen?”

Facts or opinion? This is only the first album and yes collaborations sell. Britney Spears “Break the Ice” “Gimme More”, Ludacris “Runaway Love”, Omarion “Ice Box”, Usher “Love in this Club” all sings written by Keri Hilson. I think the fact is that people tend to buy records based on how they come in and what they know before hand. Can’t judge her until that sohpmore album drops. Then we can see if she’s really worthy.

Keri is lame. She had all this hype buzzing around her for nothing. She’s only successful because the number of features on her album. You say she’s successful with the number of albums she’s sold & that she writes her own spit, but if he was actually great then he wouldn’t need a million artists to sell a few copies. Keri is not famous enough & is like every other female out right now, & its sad that this interviewer thought it was GAY-YO’s song & not hers. The only females with enough creativity & uniqueness I look out for are Beyonce & Ciara & yes, that other whack a** b*tch Rihanna. I somewhat agree with you. Keri is so not bigger or more successful than my girl Ci, but I disagree that she’s boring or generic. Keri still has a chance of retaliating & getting her career on but I don’t think Slow Dance will do that for her. Features are her weakness (as the Kobb/interviewer mistakenly thought it was Ne-Yo’s song) but she still won’t get noticed without a decent single. I think Get Your Money Up would be an excellent follow up single, but like Ciara she’ll release a bad single & have to make a retaliation with a new CD, preferably a hot song with no features. Keri is making a name for herself & will someday be in the same lane as Ciara but for now I agree with you that she is not as big as Ciara, Keri right now as a singer is in the same lane as Cassie just a little bigger & better. Ciara is hot & Keri is too but don’t get twisted thinking Keri is bigger than Ciara. Thank You!

Keri is amazing but she’s not in Ciaras league.& Keri can sing better than Ciara but Ciaras 1st CD went Plat like 2 times, 2nd went 3 times & agreed with WEEZY G person about Fantasy Ride. Keri is barely gold & had a ton of artists make appear on her CD. Fans of Keyshia Cole, Ne-Yo, Kanye, Trina, etc bought her album becuz their loyal fans respect them only & so there goes a couple of thousand copies. I bought Bey’s CD cause she’s with Jay, I bought Ri-runs record cause she had Ne-Yo & Jay & was beat up. Keri plays the game right but until she actually accomplishes what Ciara had, she in NO way shape or form will be better. She’s a better failure if that’s what you mean. Keep saying what you want (not trying to change anyones opinions or anything, who they like & don’t) but Ciara been in the game longer (singing wise) & was successful from the get go, Keri… Mmm after lucking out after 2 failed singles landed her 2 successful singles, while Ciara has 10 successful hits while only 2 failed (That’s Right was never an intended single-was released for the fans). She also made bigger hits with Lose Control & So What. In the end both females are still sexy hot but Ciaras flame burns brighter than the candles.
