Mariah Carey keeps it “100” on the theme song to her buzzworthy movie Precious (Nov. 6), in which she plays a social worker. The song was produced by Jermaine Dupri and Bryan-Michael Cox. Listen to a 30-second clip below.

it just a Snippet so i really could not get into the song like i want to but 9 out of 10 the song going real good cause mostly every thing she make is damn good plus Jermaine Dupri and Bryan-Michael Cox produced so it a good chance it going be fire to me

Her tone is nice, but I don’t like how she sings it. It’s too rushed. The casual listener won’t be able to sing along. I know it’s only a clip, but it seems to me that people might miss the message with how she sings it. Sounds like something Monica would sing. B-Cox is producing for her new album.

Mariah carey is kinda known for her rapid rhythm on phrasing..
Nobody knew wtf she was saying on “Breakdown” until years later (lol) but it’s a favorite of a lottt of people. I can understand every word.. she enunciates very well; this is nothing new for her..

Heard the snippet so far so good can”t wait to hear the full song. The fast phase singing has been apart of Mimi”s sound and music since the butterfly era. So not surprising to me and honestly I like it that style has been used by so many.

It soundS reallY good for a snippet..Like the snippet from H.A.T.E.U.
She’s gonna be for sure on Top of her job for thiS album. E=MC2 was just a fun album..It wasnt serious project and she managed to get #1 album & #1 single…
I got the utmost reSpeCt for her cause she stayS relevant thru the years.

I completly agree, i don’t think she’s considered as a serious artist because the single “obsessed”was a self asorbed song about herself.She really went down from the day of “emotions”to this.I wouldn’t take her seriously either but she did gain a little of my respect with the album “the emancipation of mimi” but then lost it completly with E=Mc2. She needs to go back to the basics and quit worrying so much about her image, and more about her music because it is suffering as a result.And lose the “diva, all about me persona” as well. Just saying….

I think everyone has the full track by now. MC does it brilliantly again. the new “Hero” of this Decade. 100% is indeed 100 percent pure geniuos. I will say this everytime MC, JD, BMCox do something together it’s really hot. She should always collabo with them and for good measure a Babyface & Walter A. productions too. A puffy remix here and a bone thungs entry too, LOL. Ok I want 100%.
