Jay-Z held a press conference on Monday (Aug. 31) to announce his “Answer the Call” charity concert at Madison Square Garden in New York City on September 11. He was joined by wife Beyoncé, Lyor Cohen, Kevin Liles, Governor David Paterson, and Fire Commissioner Nicholas Scoppetta.
The benefit hopes to raise as much as $1 million for the New York Police and Fire Widows’ and Children’s Benefit Fund. There may be as many as 10 other artists involved in the show. Tickets go on sale September 8 for $50.

Jay-Z is so into himself. I truly wish he were doing this from his heart, but because his album is coming out he’s trying to get people to get the album.
So Daisy…..was Jay-Z into himself when he donated 1 million dollars of his own money to Hurrican Katrina. I don’t think he had an album out then. Jay-Z is always putting on some charity event or giving his money away to whatever cause but you just don’t hear about it. People rather glorify him getting into it with the Paps or some other silly s@$t
