Jay-Z Announces Sept. 11 Charity Concert

Jay-Z held a press conference on Monday (Aug. 31) to announce his “Answer the Call” charity concert at Madison Square Garden in New York City on September 11. He was joined by wife Beyoncé, Lyor Cohen, Kevin Liles, Governor David Paterson, and Fire Commissioner Nicholas Scoppetta.

The benefit hopes to raise as much as $1 million for the New York Police and Fire Widows’ and Children’s Benefit Fund. There may be as many as 10 other artists involved in the show. Tickets go on sale September 8 for $50.
