Rap-Up.com || Oprah Fires Back at Chris Brown

Chris Brown may have support from his peers in the music industry, but it doesn’t look like he will be reappearing on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” anytime soon. The talk-show host has some advice for the 20-year-old pop star.

In March, Oprah aired a show about domestic abuse, which she dedicated to “the Rihannas of the world.” “It makes me so sad,” she said on the program. “Love doesn’t hurt. If a man hits you once, he will hit you again.”

When asked what he thought of Oprah’s comments, Brown recently told PEOPLE magazine, “I commend Oprah on being like, ‘This is a problem,’ but it was a slap in my face. I did a lot of stuff for her, like going to Africa and performing for her school. She could have been more helpful, like, ‘Okay, I’m going to help both of these people out.’”

Oprah responded in a statement to TMZ: “Oprah is very appreciative that Chris Brown performed at her school, but she takes domestic abuse very seriously. She hopes he gets the counseling he needs.”

It’s not Oprah’s responsibility to help Chris bounce back to reality, this sounds selfish and childish on his part. As for Oprah I think she was right in denouncing domestic violence, as well as standing up for all women. She does have the voice.

It just goes to show how no matter what proffesion you’re in eduation is the key. An educated person wouldnt say the things Chris is saying but an educated person would find a way to present their responses to difficult questions in a way which gives the person asking them those questions no choice but to drop it.

First of all, I agree with Chris, it should be help them both, he didn’t have to go to Africa and entertain her school, which she needs to be more concerned about all the violence that has been happening over their. Second, if she was such an advocate of domestic violence, she would have done more shows about it, before the whole Chris and Rihanna situation, instead of trying to jump on the bandwagon for ratings. The only thing her shows have ever been about is food and money. She caters to one audience and one audience only, people that are judgemental, hypocrits, and act as though they are better than others. You see how she talked bad about rappers a couple of years ago, and then when she had some of them on her show, she tried to make them look stupid. Even when she had Ludacris on her show and the rest of the cast members from that movie “Crash” she talked to everyone else but him, now why is that, he even commented on he didn’t understand why she had him on the show if she wasn’t going to ask him anything. But you invite Jay Z to your home, say all these wonderful things about him, but he is seen on video punching a woman, disrespect women in is music, and got started by being in the dope game, but you are such an advocate of domestic violence, bullshit. Oparah is a damn hypocrit who acts as though she is above God. I hope Chris dosen’t ever appear on her show, Rihanna either for that matter, all she cares about is ratings. So, if you call that firing back, I see it as nothing but a flicker.

@lilly its not her responsibility to help but well isnt oprah’s show all about helping people… but just like its not oprah’s responsibility to help him its not up to oprah for judge him on a relationship she knew nothing about, oprah claims to help people so why instead of helping these to people out she just judged, even after knowing him, oprah is a biased person, and then you call him selfish for telling her that?!…

yhtak, I totaly agree with you, She is a biased jusgemental person. That is one of the main reasons why I don’t watch her boring ass show. She act as though just because she has billions, everyone is suppose to go along with everything she says, well I don’t. As quick as she got those billions, the quicker she can get them taken away. But, if she knows so much about relationships, why hasn’t Stedmond married her, she can say all she wants, that she doesn’t want to get married, if he was really into her, after all these years, you’d think he would have asked her by now. Stick to what you know best Oprah, food and Gail.

Mach, Oprah claims she was abused sexually by a family member, but that same family member denied those alligations stating she was only trying to sell her book. And as far as Brandy is concerned, should she be forgiven for the hit and run she did where she took a mother from her young children or should it be excused? Joey, I guess Rihanna wasn’t wrong when she hit Chris first, more than once. Why is it ok for a woman to hit a man, no one should hit anyone, rather it be a man or a woman. If you don’t like his music, then don’t buy it. All the haters want Chris to go away, but they continue to visit his site and post hate. Why don’t all you haters go away.

I understand where Chris is coming from, but why did he say “I’ve done alot of stuff for her”?? As if Oprah owes him! It seems to me that Chris is worried about nothing else but him. On the show Oprah said we should pray for BOTH Rihanna and Chris Brown, (I guess he missed that part). Apperantly Rihanna used to slap Chris here and there, which I believe is totally uneceptable, but if he didn’t like that, (just like we’d expect any abused women to do) he should’ve left her, but instead of doing that, he reacted by doing the same thing to her (if not worse). Chris seems to be worried more about his image than the fact that he needs some help, and he didn’t need Oprah -or anyone for that matter- to tell him that he does.

That let’s you know haters have nothing to do all day, but hate. And to Mirah Carey’s #1 whoever you are, why is it that all you haters as yourself want his fans and other people to follow your lead? We all do things we are not proud of and we all make mistakes, if that were the case, then I guess Oprah is the only perfect person in this world. She was wrong in her comment, I agree with Arie, just because she has billions everyone is suppose to go along with what she says. I don’t think so, but since you agree with her, I hope she gives you some of it, that way you and all the other haters can get out there and do something with your lives instead of sitting on your lazy asses hating. Men that do that can be very manipulative and Oprah handled this situation very well. What Oprah suffered alexis was not her fault….Men that hit will hit again and no man that does that deserves any kind of protection from hurting his image.
