Rap-Up.com || Venus vs. Mars: Beyoncé vs. Cassie

A version of Jay-Z’s “Venus vs. Mars” surfaced last week featuring vocals from Cassie. But when the album version leaked this week, the Bad Girl had been replaced by Mrs. Carter on the hook. To make matters more confusing, only Cassie is credited in The Blueprint 3 liner notes, seen below.

This is not the first time Cassie has appeared on a Jay-Z record. She can also be heard on “Roc Boys (And the Winner Is…).” Listen to both ladies’ versions of “Venus vs. Mars” after the cut.

As much as I despise Beyonce, people give her so much damn credit for stuff she aint done, but hers is totally better. Cassie, as much as I don’t want to say it, needs a bigger voice so she can yell & go hard, instead she sounds like a sweet baby coo, but that’s not what the track was going for, so Beyonce’s version was better. People need to get off d1ck though, lol.

Beyonce is dope on the track, but I think Cassie fits the song better.

Cassie’s version sounds a lil more smooth. Simple is better in this case…that type of hook doesn’t really need much.

Honestly I agree with most of the ppl on here because to me they both sound mad hot on the record. I wouldn’t mind listening to both of the versions. Cassie is smooth with hers and flow with the music but her words are shallow and B she goin hard with the verse plus venus. vs. mars is about a man and a woman and i think J and B is right for the track. So both verses is hot.

Cassie sounds smoother, but B has swag. Cassie makes the song something to grove with, while B makes it something to get into. That being said I actually like both of versions. I’m cool with Cassie and her part, but B has too much presence to just do that one thing, she needs her own verse or something. When I first heard her on the track I was like okay, hopefully she got a verse or something so we can hear more of her. If B’s gonna be on it she needs a verse or something. Cassie is fine because I think that she has a voice that’s perfect for a hook. I like both version either way though
