Rap-Up.com || New Music: Usher

The divorce documents have been filed and now Usher is singing all about his separation from ex-wife Tameka Foster on “Papers,” the first offering from his sixth studio album, due in December.

The R&B superstar doesn’t hold back on the Sean Garrett-penned track, crooning, “For you I gave my heart and turned my back against the world/ ’Cause you were my girl, girl, girl/ I done damn near lost my mama/ I done been through so much drama/ I done turned into the man that I never thought I’d be/ I’m ready to sign them papers.”

@i.D, 1. ‘Here I Stand’ was not a flop, not in numbers nor in quality. Once you get pass track one, the album flows oh, so, well. I liked ‘Here I Stand’ he will never beat his best, ‘Confessions’, but anyway. This is a solid track for Usher. It comes from the heart and you knew he was talking about Chilli on Confessions…and he’s clearly talking about his highly publicized and nit-picked marriage with Tameka.

I can’t wait til’ the album drops…

No other artist would dare release a song like this for there first single only usher can pull it off and i guarantee this will be a #1 record on billboard. I’m so loving it already! Why the hell Usher couldn’t have written this song when I was going through my Divorce? It wouldve been my theme song @ my Divorce party that I had! LoL.

Overall I’m happy he is getting rid of that old bitch once and for all. Its just sad to say he has two kids for her!

MEN: listen to ya mama when she says “I don’t like her” or “somethings not right with her”! That right there should raise a RED flag before you raise your HAND to sign those Divorce papers!

I like the song, but definitely not 1st single material in my eyes. Maybe a last single. And as far as ‘Here I Stand’ goes, I had that album on repeat for months! Listened from beginning to end, didn’t skip a track! Of course it wasn’t gonna be as big or bigger than ‘Confessions’, that will most likely ALWAYS be Usher’s best sh^t. But as a follow up album, I don’t think it was a disappointment, people just want drama sometime and he wasn’t gonna give it on ‘Here I Stand’.
