New Music: Usher – ‘Papers’

Usher

The divorce documents have been filed and now Usher is singing all about his separation from ex-wife Tameka Foster on “Papers,” the first offering from his sixth studio album, due in December.

The R&B superstar doesn’t hold back on the Sean Garrett-penned track, crooning, “For you I gave my heart and turned my back against the world/ ’Cause you were my girl, girl, girl/ I done damn near lost my mama/ I done been through so much drama/ I done turned into the man that I never thought I’d be/ I’m ready to sign them papers.”

After ‘Here I Flop’ you have the nerve to come back with this mess?
The whole scorned man/confessions theme is played!
You need to sign those papers & exit left OUT the game! this is wackness, thats why your playing ass flopped the last time you came out with that wackess.
Seems like you havent learnt your lesson usher.
Im so disspointed in this SMH

@i.D, 1. ‘Here I Stand’ was not a flop, not in numbers nor in quality. Once you get pass track one, the album flows oh, so, well. I liked ‘Here I Stand’ he will never beat his best, ‘Confessions’, but anyway. This is a solid track for Usher. It comes from the heart and you knew he was talking about Chilli on Confessions…and he’s clearly talking about his highly publicized and nit-picked marriage with Tameka.

    I can’t wait til’ the album drops…

It’s some real live stupid haters on here. This song is so real. I almost want to cry. I love it. Unfortuneately I don’t like him telling everyone to raise they hands if they gone “sign the papers” Bet the marriage counselor gone tell you, you went to far with that one again Ush. I like it. Tameka how do you f that up? You big dummy!

No other artist would dare release a song like this for there first single only usher can pull it off and i guarantee this will be a #1 record on billboard. The people that are hating always want the opposite but then when the uptempo is released there like “oh i dont like it” and “oh his career is over”. seriously yall dont kno good music fuck outta here what u need to worry about is Chris browns wack transformer single, now that shit is atrocious!

So basically Usher is saying he was the victim in their relationship and they argued all the time. And now he know that she was with him for the celebrity..go figure. Momma knows best and she seen it from the beginning.
Good ridens to the wicked witch of the ATL…
But will this concept for his album bring platinum sales?..hmmmm

The song is nice, but as a 1st single, no. Usher this the same ole, you’ve done before. Sounds like something left over from “Confessions”

WELCOME BACK USH!!! This is what he should have came back with…wonderful vocals. He sounds like a real singer on this track. The lyrics? Above par…the sound…in pocket. He did it. The album WILL be the joint to get. BIG Grammy numbers for 2011!

I’m so loving it already! Why the hell Usher couldn’t have written this song when I was going through my Divorce? It wouldve been my theme song @ my Divorce party that I had! LoL.

Overall I’m happy he is getting rid of that old bitch once and for all. Its just sad to say he has two kids for her!

MEN: listen to ya mama when she says “I don’t like her” or “somethings not right with her”! That right there should raise a RED flag before you raise your HAND to sign those Divorce papers!

    Aunie~

I dig the song, but hasn’t this beat been used before by Gorilla Zoe? I swear, I have this beat before. You gotta admit, I’m a big Usher fan, but his last CD wasn’t near as good as Confession. Anyway, can’t wait to hear more music from him.

I like the song, but definitely not 1st single material in my eyes. Maybe a last single. And as far as ‘Here I Stand’ goes, I had that album on repeat for months! Listened from beginning to end, didn’t skip a track! Of course it wasn’t gonna be as big or bigger than ‘Confessions’, that will most likely ALWAYS be Usher’s best sh^t. But as a follow up album, I don’t think it was a disappointment, people just want drama sometime and he wasn’t gonna give it on ‘Here I Stand’.
