Rap-Up.com || Eminem Turns Down Madonna

Most artists would jump at the chance to work with Madonna, but not Eminem. The rapper passed on a potential collaboration with the Material Girl.

“I wanted to work with Eminem. I don’t think he wanted to work with me,” she told Rolling Stone in the magazine’s current issue. “Maybe he’s shy.”

When asked who she listens to today, she cited her collaborators Justin Timberlake and Timbaland. “I really, genuinely like the music of Timbaland and Justin,” adding that her son Rocco “likes anything that I did with Timbaland.”

The Queen of Pop also praised Timberlake’s songwriting skills. “Justin is a brilliant songwriter. I mean, ‘What Goes Around…Comes Around’? Brilliant.”

But i’m happy he did that. Keeping rap and pop seperate. And not confusing people into thinking that Madonna is a G or some shit. Keeping the order right.

I love Eminem and the way he doesn’t need any other person to validate him or his music. He works with people who he wants to work with not with who people want to work with him.

Should we be surprised that Em turned down Madonna? She’s a pop icon. Em hates pop stars. Britney, Christina, ‘N Sync… Plus a couple years back she did say that rap music is crap music and just for fun made a rap song just to show how easy it was. After that, I doubt Em would want to work with someone that practically spat on the music he loves so much.

To be honest, I don’t think a Eminem-Madonna collab would work. You can’t put the King of Rap in the same room as the Queen of Pop and expect things to go wonderfully. I mean Michael Jackson said she’s a pretty vile person. So if the King of Pop couldn’t stand Madonna, what do you think Eminem would do to her? If people see him as a terrible person for going after Mariah Carey, I can only imagine what they would say after news came that Em blew up at Madonna.

Sorry. Guess we frequent different blogs. All the hip-hop blogs I frequent classify Em, Nas, and Jay-Z as being some of the hip-hop gods of the last decade (not sure the hip-hop world calls the time between the late 90s and the present). He is definitely regarded as one of the greats regardless of what you think.

Yes, he’s the king of rap in all aspects. I don’t like elvis’ music, but that doesn’t mean he’s not the king of rock. And I know a few kids who hate Michael Jackson’s music, but that doesn’t mean he’s not the king of pop. Eminem has sold more albums, attracted more fans, and won over 140 awards including several with titles such as ‘best rapper alive’ and ‘best rapper ever’ You may not like Eminem because you’re interested in Lil Wayne or Souljaboy or something, but that doesn’t mean he ISN’T the king of rap.

actually eminem would benefit big time by working with madonna. if only for the pubblicity that it would generate now that his career is not as good as in the past. and in fact i dont even think she would be interested to do anything with him at this stage.
quite a few years ago eminem poked fun at madonna in one of his videos and madonna actually met him some time after. that was the time when she asked him to collaborate together. for a reason or another it didnt happen. still, dr dr sent her a demo but she didnt like it. even jay z asked madonna to sing with him for a track in the black album called justify my thug – a hip hop version of justify my love but she turned him down. eventually she let him use the song and some other vocalist sang her part.
missy elliot worked with her in various occasions. timbaland and lil wayne produced music with her. and im not even mentioning all the hip hop artists madonna supported and promoted with her former record company maverick.
she s undoubtedly the first female white singer to embrace street culture eg black culture. in fact people even thought she was a black artist herself when they were playing her very first tune on the radio.
and im not even talking about her involvement with 2pac. check out their duet id rather be your lover!!
to say madonna doesnt deserve a small place in the big hip hop world is ignorant to say the least!!

I don’t understand why people say em is past it or needs this collab.

Relaspe is nearly double platinum, hes the most highest selling artist of the year. (my man Jay is catchin’ up tho)

If anyone needs a fame boast, it’s mariah carey. She sold nothing comparison to em.

Because he couldn’t mess with Madonna like he messes with the other people. He couldn’t push her around and talk about her. She’s larger than he would ever be. She would kill his career if he even tried to diss her. Also, he couldn’t hide the fact that he’s gay from her. She would ask him flat out.

Eminem is over. He isn’t rap or hip hop. He was/is/ and always will be pop influenced rap.

She hasn’t had a notable decent song in a while, and he already has dissed her back in 2002ish… And even after his 3-4 year absence he’s still the best selling artist of the decade. Eminem isn’t over, his new CD came out and made Double Platinum. He’s on a tour, working on a movie, comic book, and releasing a 2nd CD soon. Your brain is obviously screwy.

Hmm.. I understand why he wouldn’t want to work with Madonna. I’d think Madonna would be smart enough to realize that he just plain didn’t want to collaborate with her rather than to think that he was just shy. Or maybe it hurt her feelings that someone would turn her down, she is kind of spoiled.

Also, I love Madonna. Like, LOVE Madonna but I can’t believe she called Justin Timberlake’s “What goes around… comes around” brilliant? I know he added a few more words, but hasn’t that saying been around forever? Just like “Cry Me a River”.

I’m not bashing anyone. I like all three artists, well Madonna and Eminem anyway; I’m surprised from what Madonna said. Oh well.
