An invite-only crowd popped beer bottles and rocked to the musical stylings of Estelle, Wale, Ludacris, and Nas, as well as DJs Biz Markie and D-Nice, at the Heineken Red Star Soul series at New York City’s Gotham Hall on Friday night (Oct. 16).
Fresh from touring with Jay-Z, Wale amped industry folks with material from his debut album Attention Deficit, while Estelle charmed with her British accent and dancehall moves, pulling a few up on stage to slow wind with her.
Headliner Ludacris closed out the casual, yet classy evening by bringing out surprise guest Nas, who he tag-teamed with on “I Do It for Hip-Hop” off Luda’s Theater of the Mind.
