Kanye West Death Rumors a Hoax

Kanye West

His “Fame Kills” tour with Lady Gaga may be dead, but Kanye West is alive and well. Whisperings of the rapper’s death quickly spread throughout the Internet on Tuesday. The hoax originated online, claiming West had perished in a car accident. Those rumors were dispelled by his girlfriend Amber Rose who took to Twitter to stand up for her man.

Amber Rose Tweets

A trending topic of #LongLiveYeezy was started by Rose in response to the RIP Kanye West trending topic that surfaced on the micro-blogging service.

The Chicago MC is not the first celebrity this year to be subjected to a death hoax. Lil Wayne, Miley Cyrus, and Matt Damon are just some of the famous names that have been falsely pronounced dead over the last year.

The real West narrowly escaped death in a near-fatal car accident in 2002, but the fictional character in his short film “We Were Once a Fairytale,” directed by Spike Jonze, does meet his demise. Watch the video below.
