Rap-Up.com || Mary J. Blige’s ‘Stronger’ Coming This Year

The bad news first: Mary J. Blige’s new album is not coming next month. The good news: It will still drop this year.

The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul’s ninth studio album Stronger is now scheduled for release on December 15, Rap-Up.com has learned. It was previously on the calendar for November 24. MJB will tentatively face competition from Lil Wayne’s Rebirth on the same day.

Stronger is set to include “The One” with Drake and the title track’s ballad, which was a single off the More Than a Game soundtrack. Among the album’s contributors are Rodney Jerkins, Ryan Leslie, Johnta Austin, Ester Dean, Stargate, T.I., and Trey Songz, who told Rap-Up.com that he has recorded a song called “Hood Love” with Blige.

I had a feeling it wasn’t going to drop on Nov. 24th, especially with “The One” and “Stronger” failing to make much of an impact on the charts. Add to that releases by Rihanna, Gaga, and Britney. It’s gonna be a crowded holiday season for sure.

Alicia Keys moved her album for Dec 15 and Chris Brown is also coming out on Dec 15. Britney is moved for November 10 so the biggest competition for Novemb 23 release date are 50 Cent, Adam Lambert, Jay Sean, Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Timbaland.

@Wtf, yeah the standard collections CD is coming out on Nov 10th but the fan version with the DVD is coming out on the 24th.

Mary’s last two singles lacked that ’sparkle’ that her previous singles had. I’m waiting for that “Be Without You” type of single. Doesn’t have to be similar in sound, but similar in terms of you can’t get it out of your head.

I am not feeling Mary this go round. i ain’t gon lie, I’m bumping Whitney Houston’s ‘Worth it’ of her album- that is my ‘Be without’. That album is my jam!

The Ones and Stronger hasn’t made an impact and the songs will be old by Dec. She will have to come wiht a 3rd song to spark interest.

A Keys- not feeling her single either. Dang, who am I going to buy as gifts besides Maxwell and Whitney!

Que malo que mary no sacara su album en noviembre y yo que era el que mas esperava lo bueno que lo saca el 15 de diciembre y 3 dias despues mi cumpleaños jajajajajaj el 18 se aran 2 años del album growin pains pero lo esperaremos ! the one y stronger son las canciones que mas me gustan hai que esperar las demas rolas

Love me some Mary J. No one can deny she’s got soul. All she needs is a hit single to get the ball rolling. I love Stronger and that Ryan Leslie produced song as well, forgot the name of it.

First let me say I am a huge Mary J Blige fan..
BUT ..(I hope you read this Mary)
You ain’t getting no radio spins here in the midwest .. And trust me I am juggling 4 radio stations in 2 different MAJOR CITIES to request your music EVERYDAY.. Its like you are getting blacklisted.
I think J Record will make sure Alicia out shine you !! Because she will drop new music 12/15/2009.
Interscope promotion team is dropping the ball.. You’ve done all the partying and fund raising .. Now get back on the grind or you won’t crack the Top 10 .. I love you Mary with all my heart .. But Handle your Scandle !!!

@concerned fan for Mary j- lol- agree with you- i see her at parties, events and fundraisers but hardly hear her new stuff.

Don’t worry, i hear akeys new song but no one’s buying it on Itunes so it will even out for both ladies.

She usually has more hype. I think the singles were too youth-friendly.
