Alicia Keys schooled students at New York University’s Skirball Center by performing material from her new album The Element of Freedom including “Doesn’t Mean Anything” and “Try Sleeping with a Broken Heart,” plus “Empire State of Mind,” “Fallin’,” “If I Ain’t Got You,” and more.

    If “try sleeping with a broken heart” doesn’t go #1 that would be sad, because that song is amazing and one of her best.

    Great performances but I gotta say this, Alicia Keys songs all sound the same. I mean its one thing to have the same sound but when I’m getting the songs mixed up then its a problem. She needs a new sound. Maybe take some time off and reinvent herself with a new sound. Cause “Doesn’t mean anything” is a leftover from the last album.

    Love the new single!!! She is ahead of her time. Eventhough Doesn’t Mean Anything sounds similiar to some of her other work it still sounds better than half the music out there. I will be buying the album come December 15th.
