Rap-Up.com || Mary J. Blige’s ‘Stronger’ Pushed to Christmas Week

Santa Claus is not the only one coming down the chimney this holiday season. Mary J. Blige will also be stuffing stockings with her new album, which has been pushed back one week, just in time for Christmas.

MJB’s ninth studio album Stronger will now arrive in stores on December 22, three days before Christmas. It was previously scheduled to go head-to-head with Alicia Keys, Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, and more on December 15.

A new song from the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul called “I Can See in Color” can be heard on the soundtrack to the film Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire, opening in select theaters Friday.

Smart move !!! MJB … Lil Wayne .. Alicia Keys .. and Chris Brown was dropping new music Dec 15 .. Let them 3 fight for #1 ..
And make room for yourself for a # 1 Album on Billboard the following week !!!
I hope that Mary release SkyCap featuring Timbaland !!! Hot Record !!!

@Concerned Fan for MJB, Sky Cap was recorded for her previous album, Growing Pains. It was even scheduled to appear on the album but was cut at the minute.

I think she should just throw this album away and start from scratch. Her singles were ok but obviously didn’t make an impact. It’s like she is trying to compete with the younger generation which is stupid because she sings better than all of them. Her and Jazmine should stop messing around with these hit producers and develop their own sound. If she got with ?uestlove and made a bomb ass soul album it could really change the game.

This is her 3rd pushback. I agree with the poster above, start from scratch cuz obviously the 2 singles didn’t do well and didn’t generate buzz. She is not going to sell 700, 600, 500 or even 400k first week- justnot happening

@hereformary chill the hell out. I’m the biggest Mary fan you will ever meet and I just want a solid product. From the songs that have been leaked I haven’t been too impressed. “Sky Cap” so far is my favorite out of all the leak songs and I’m not sure if that will even make the album. It would suck if Mary flopped right now because she is a pivotal point in her career. She has never been more famous and all eyes are on her. I’m looking for her to bring it back to the “Mary” days. I mean do we really need an album filled with the same producers that you hear on everyone else’s album. What the game needs right now is something different and I know that she can give that to us.

This is soooo sad, fans worrying about an artists’ sales. If ur a REAL fan just go by the record and shut the hell up. However, i am going to relief some stress here. Lets do our ABC’s: A. Marys last two albums sold platinum in less than two weeks. B. Mary sells albums not singles. This is why she stayed in the game soooooooo long. music fans know she puts out REAL music. C. Mary has a dedicated 2 million-plus fan base, shes not EVER worried about floppin. Her not being overexposed only makes her more desireable. So please recognize shes 8 albums deep and haters are still on her nutz. Go Mary!!!

Timbaland and Mary did such a great job !!! …

I hate Geffen Records .. they suck at promotion and making sure she get radio spins ..
Keri should have went 1.5 platinum .. Keyshia double ..Growing Pains 2.5 mill..
Geffen and Interscope drop the ball to much!!
