While Rihanna was telling her side of the story to Diane Sawyer, Chris Brown sat down with MTV News’ Sway Calloway on Friday (Nov. 6) and opened up about his ex-girlfriend, domestic violence, and how he is trying to move forward.

He also released a statement to MTV News in response to Rihanna’s “20/20” interview.

“While I respect Rihanna’s right to discuss the specific events of February 8, I maintain my position that all of the details should remain a private matter between us. I do appreciate her support and wish her the best. I am extremely sorry for what I did, and I accept accountability for my actions. At this point, I am taking the proper steps to learn about me and grow from my mistakes. I only hope that others in similar situations can learn from our experience as well. Abuse of any kind is always wrong. The rest I leave it to God.”

I really don’t understand him. First he said he wouldn’t do any more interviews about the incident after the interview with Angie Martinez. Now here he is doing another one…If you really wanted to move on you would MOVE ON and shut up.

and Rihanna has the right to speak about what happened that night, because she was the victim, and it happened to her. She will always be more successful than him anyway.

Man I feel like Chris has grown a lot right in front of our eyes. You can tell he’s being honest and not trying to hold anything back in this interview. Not to long ago when I first heard him speak on the situation, I was like Chris just shut up, cause he seemed so immature, but I definitely see a change. You can tell he takes responsibility and is just excepting what comes along with what he did.

He still have to live his life. None of us are perfect and make mistakes or sin all the time. We might not all do the same things, but wrong is wrong sin is sin. In God’s eyes there are no different levels of sin and no one is exempt from his love and forgiveness as long as you go to HIM. So people remember that. When you do something wrong and want forgiveness from your spouse, brother, mother etc think to yourself, do you forgive others, even those you don’t know personally? It goes both ways.

And also, having unforgiveness in your heart towards ANYONE, no matter what they’ve done, is actually a sin as well. If you wanna talk about right and wrong, good or bad, lets speak on EVERYTHING. I know there are things like killing someone verse, cheating on a test, which are very different. But still, when it comes to unforgiveness, the person you are really hurting is yourself. When you forgive someone it’s not for the other person really, it’s actually for yourself.

I also was just thinking about this woman a few years back, who lost her son to a hit and run drunk driver. At the scene of the accident, she was on the news hurt and sadden by her son’s death, but in the mist of that, she said to the camera that she forgives the guy that killed her son. I mean, RIGHT THERE ON THE SPOT…I was amazed! That woman knew that if she didn’t forgive him, that she would forever harbor anger and resentment for the rest of her life. She would be unhappy and bitter. And God says if we don’t forgive others, how should WE expect to be forgiven??

I’m not knockin what he did, cause no one was more hurt and angry than I was after I heard what happened. We were all hurt and angry, but I felt had to forgive him and he’d done nothing to me. Just gotta let go.

If that lady could forgive someone for KILLING her baby, in that moment, surely we can forgive someone that didn’t even do something PERSONALLY to us!

@elvis, you are an idiot. Go watch her interview. She states that she did NOT hit him, and even if she did, that doesn’t make it okay to beat her. He is all jittery and can’t stand still in his interview, demonstrating that he is nervous and is an amateur. On the other hand, she is poised and can’t even look Diane Swayer straight in the face, showing that she is still hurt and embarrassed by it all. If Chris Brown would have handled this whole situation differently I think he would have had much more respect. He is a child, Rihanna was right when she said he had to grow up. Also, since she dated Chris for a month or so after this all happened that means she’s only been single for about 6 months. Love doesn’t go away that fast and yes this interview is to help her new album, but it is very sincere and heartfelt. Take a communications class or something then you might be able to pick up on things better.

i think people seriously need to leave the guy alone. not being funny but everyone makes mistakes, so why cant we just stop dwelling on his mistakes. am a big chris brown fan & was pissed at what he did but he seems sorry & has been punished enuf. he defo should not go away, we all know at the end of the day his an amazing artist, so stop looking at his mistakes & look at the good stuff his done.

Hmm.. Rihanna releasing her album soon.. She’s playing the hurt, sad, vulnerable girl in the interview (maybe she really is, but I’m not sure if I trust her).. People feeling sorry for her and wanting to support her and buy her album.. Higher album sales, she gets more cash and fame. You do the math. Sounds like a very good plan for her.

I’d love to hear what really happened though. Judging from Chris’ entourage’s response on Twitter, there’s a lot more to be told.

@Quilt, I’m pretty sure Chris has an album, which he pushed up, coming out in less than a month. We’ll see who sells more records. Listen to her interview and the pain in her voice. You can hear he quiver. You can’t fake that. She is sincere and heartfelt, while he’s just trying to save his career. On Larry King when asked if he loves Rihanna he said ye. Then when asked if he was still in love with Rihanna he said definitely. THEN when asked if he would spend the rest of his life with her he started laughing and talking about how young he was. Obviously he’s not REALLY in love. Chris Brown is trying to save his image and all you idiots are falling into it.

lets all stop and think about this fairly, i like them both but, there is always 2 sides. maybe chris is not speaking out against her because he dont want the real rihanna to be revealed. i dont think that she is no victim she just didnt think that it was going to be linked out like it did. where was everyone when it all begun, somebody knew something. but just sit back and let it all settle and watch the truth all unfold. i think a whole different rihanna will be revealed.
