Janet Jackson fans gathered at The Grove in Los Angeles on Saturday (Nov. 14) for a flash mob. They danced to several of her hits including “If,” “Rhythm Nation,” and “Miss You Much.” Janet herself was present, watching from an upstairs balcony. Her greatest hits album Number Ones hits stores Tuesday.

Its the opposite, the US has always been Janet’s main fanbase, she’s lost a lot of international fans over the course of her last 3 albums particularly in the UK. She’s almost just Michael Jackson’s sister over here.

Janet will always be loved period. The US did shun her after the Super Bowl incident and it affected her sales and reputation for a while. Even without that however when an artist gets older no matter how good they look, move, perform or sing they need maximum label backing. Janet didn’t get that when she left Virgin for Island/Def Jam. I think if she comes the right way this go round things can be monumental but only time can tell if the mass public is finally ready again. I think its her time but we’ve thought that before. Maybe her time like many icons has dimmed and waned. We shall see. Loves her forever no matter what.

Janet got shunned after the Superbowl because people in America seem not to have a mind of their own…Janet is a great artist and have still been making great music. I’ve been supporting Janet for as long as I can remember…just because I know she’s one of the most innovative artists that the industry has. A naked breast affected record sales? That to me makes no sense. Regardless, I love you Janet. You’re my favorite female artist of all time and it will remain this way forever and a day now kill the AMAs…
