Video: Brandy Covers Sam Cooke

Here’s another video from Brandy’s bathroom sessions. B-Rocka shows and proves once again, tackling Sam Cooke’s “A Change Is Gonna Come.” Look for her rap alter-ego Bran’Nu on Timbaland’s Shock Value II (Dec. 8).

    YES YES YES YES YESSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SING BRAN!! And I’ve heard her rap on “Meet In The Middle” and she definitely SHITS. Tight flow. I mean, the chick really does it ALL. Then again she proved that in the 90′s..

I dont think shes fishing for compliments,- BELiEve it or not… SINGING is what she does. Shes music spirited

She cant be Despertate if she has millions of dollars, and making albums that reflect her current situations. Some artists dont a creative input in there albums. Shit happens in the industry- when you dont get the right support/promotion from your label then atleast she able to do something for her fans at a minimum so I guess thats her being HUMAN

More importantly these vocals prove that she still GOT it…Its like Ive heard all her albums in 3 mins. Brandy got Range, Artistry everything.

Cant wait to hear her version of ‘Laboutins’ I know its better without listening..if not we got SHock Value 2, and her new album and TV projects.. so I guess a BIG change is gonna come!!

    @Stayafro33, So damn true baby!!!
Jenny Lo-Lo ‘s version will pale in comparison to B-rocka and I dont need to her her version to know that mess already! B-rocks is my girl for life and when I met her she was teh most humble person imaginable!!

    She killed!

and i’m sorry, but people who really love to sing record videos and audio of themselves alll the time. I know I do. She doesn’t have to share this with the world, but there are people who love her for it… She doesn’t need studio enhancements to do anything.

The thing is, people have their own idea of what a “star” should be doing. Brandy is PAID. But unlike your faves who get photographed on sidewalks, leaving restaurants and salons all day, Brandy really takes this seriously. She’s in the studio everyday just about.

Now if she’d only put some of this kind of singing to work on the music she’s putting out these days, we’d be getting somewhere. Same goes for Monica. Those who grew up on 90′s R&B know they can blow, so what’s up?

There’s something so lovable about Brandy.
She comes across so human (no pun intended)!

The only thing that puts me off her future music is the fact that she’s working on a duet album with Ray J.
Its just not a good look.

As for the bathroom sessions they’re cool.
They’re only really intended for the fans. If your a fan you get it otherwise it may comes across as something else (desperation).

Oh my Lord!!! Now that’s what I call sangin!!! Brandy has the greatest voice I’ve ever heard!!! She’s not only the best beat rider, but just be smashin it straight a cappella!

Man I’m still trippin off her last session! “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” That was the best rendition I’ve heard! Brandy can NEVER stop singing!!! For real!!!

She really needs to do some kind of movie involving music! Maybe like a old movie or something

Brandy is a source of inspiration for me and I’m an aspiring male vocalist. Her range was beautiful and the emotions in her voice gave me chills. We need our 90′s heros back in the game. Brandy is undoubtebly still until this day one of the most distinct female vocalist. I Luv Brandy :)

I think she should title her next album ‘Bathroom Sessions’ that would be so dope.. Using a bathroom as somewhere to reflect. It would suit her.

BUt im most looking forward to brandys higher vocals on a crazy beat. Something like she gave for Diddys Press play ‘Thought you said’ thats the brandy that i Love

I wouldn’t even call “Bran Nu” an alter ego.. just a moniker if you will.. Let’s not forget she’s also been called B’rocka since Lord knows when. Don’t get crazy folks.. Trust when we say Brandy has done it all, she HAS.

    [Reply]

  21. Stayafro33

@M!ke its something for her fans, just to remind them of how dope she is. I think in Brandys mind its still about reconnecting to her purpose like she said in interviews. So for the moment i think everyone or every Bran-Fan should enjoy it for the moment until she drops somethin heavy sometime soon!!

Brandy has always been an amazing talent! I appreciate that these bathroom renditions have brought such great attention but those of us who have been her fans all along have always known! She is a heavy weight in the game! Unfortunately, that doesnt always mean the big record sales but she is certainly not done!
