Mariah Carey ‘Memoirs’ Remix Album Due in February![]() Fans of Mariah Carey’s latest album Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel will be able to fall in love with it all over again when a remixed edition of the project is released next year.
Carey’s manager Chris Lighty revealed the release month via Twitter on Saturday, according to Mariah Daily. “Listen Memoirs remix lp february…no date set working on target exclusive,” he wrote. Rap-Up.com first reported about the project in early October. The as-yet-untitled LP, which producer Tricky Stewart describes as more of a “features” album, will include reworked versions of every song on Memoirs with the possibility of all-new material. “We wanted to do an album that was really personal, and if you love Mariah Carey, you can put it on and listen to it all day,” Stewart told Rap-Up.com, “but at the same time, if you like the hot Mariah when she’s doing the features, we want to give people that option too, so that they can put on whichever one they choose.” Featured guests already on board include Trey Songz (“Inseparable”), R. Kelly (“Betcha Gon’ Know”), T-Pain (“Candy Bling”), Gucci Mane (“Obsessed” and “H.A.T.E.U.”), Big Boi (“H.A.T.E.U.”), and OJ Da Juiceman (“H.A.T.E.U.”). She needs to move on to the next single because H.A.T.E.U., like I Want To Know, is a flob. She has to release Standing O or Up Out My Face. When Februari comes she will release 100 Percent as the lead single for the remix album, i’m hoping!
Hmph, if she had released Angels Cry as the 2nd single the album would’ve been succesful.
By the way, I loooooove Standing O O O!!!

@ oebie,
damn make up ur mind of what single to have next.
Personally, i think that she should make another album is cuz this one flopped, hard. Mimoo, take a long break…have fun, heal your voice, find Tommy Motola (hire him as your manager, again), don’t hire the dream, tricky stewart because they will ruin your career. The remix album is unneccessary.

I wish she would rest her voice, and try again in a year or two. This is coming from a loyal fan.

In a year or two, my Mimi needs to be having babies!
Im starting to think that LA Reid doesnt know how to promote his freakin` artists right. He screwed Janet over too. I want to know what love is should be scrapped and HATEU should be promoted in full overdrive.. the original and the remix

Honestly, i think she should focus on “H.A.T.E.U.” as the third single and the original album. I’m a pretty big Mariah fan and i really could care less about a remix album right now. I think the original “Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel” is a really good album and it was a nice change to not have a bunch of features.

Standing O = FLOP
Her best bets are Up out My Face and Ribbon to get her on her feet again.

Man… I thought Mariah and Rihanna were gonna sell like crazy.
Their albums are crazy good.

Oke, let me be clear:
1: Obsessed
2: Angels Cry
3: Standing O
4: 100 % (this song will be on the remix album)
5: Up Out My Face

Isn’t Beyonce to appear on “It’s A Wrap”?

I believe “Up out my face” should have BEEN released a long time ago… And that “Up Out My Face” interlude would have been sure to strike up interest during the band season. songs that bands play are usually the popular ones in the fall.
This project was just handled poorly.. and i’m not too fond of the Dream, the nightmare, or whoever he is.
As far as the remix album – I was feelin that one remix I heard – was it “Candy Bling” that used the Ghost town Djs “my boo” sample? that was hot.. I wonder if it would be a good idea to release the “Betcha gon know” remix with R. Kelly, since it was a fan favorite and R. Kelly always does good with those soap opera/drama songs..

I love this album very much but I also start to question her management company not promoting her well enough, neither do they chose the right single releases (yet again; they did the same to E=MC2).
The “features” album could prove to be interesting and for a change I would actually love to see some female duets again! Be it rappers or other divas.
Mariah and Whitney did magic back in 1998 and I am sure they could sound brilliant again together. I can also see MIMI duet with Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Chaka Khan, and even Donna Summer!!
I just would like to see some more creativity and new recipes for success, Mr A. Reid….or shall we ask Randy Jackson for help?
Also, Mrs Carey-Cannon, you should keep in mind that your biological clock is ticking! You are turning 40 and that is rather late for a first child! Keep in mind you will be 60 when your child turns 20! I have old parents and while I love them, there IS a generation gap. The longer you leave it the more complications there will be.
Best tracks: It’s A Wrap, Ribbon, Hate U, The Impossible, Angels Cry, Out Of My Face, and I love the Foreigner remake too although I wished there was a longer version on the album!!
Top tips for MIMI: After the Remix album, take a break; get pregnant and stay out of limelight for 2 yrs plus. Make a new movie and contribute via songwriting only (so that peeps finally recognize you for that)….then 1 or 2 years later do another studio album if you must!
Musical direction I recommend: Jazz, House, Standards, Retro-old skool RNB.

I say no more singles to this album, it’s not going to save it. She should just release her remix album and then raise a child. Hopefully she will make a huge comeback in 2011 or 2012. And she needs to change labels back to Sony, they managed her correctly.

this album was crap….hopefully the remixes are better..
smh.

Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel is the Best female R&B album released this year.

I don’t understand her and her management. They can see that HATEU is a flop, why even bother to make a video. They should make a video for Angels Cry and then announce the single for radio.
I think with Precious getting more and more attention, she should release 100 Percent in february, around the oscars and grammy’s period.
Oh well, maybe it’s better if MC goes to an another label and take a break for like 3 years.
Can’t wait to see and hear from her again in like 2012.
