Time has revealed its “Top 10 Everything of 2009” lists and The-Dream should feel vindicated after being left out of the Grammy nominations. His sophomore effort Love vs. Money was the only R&B album to land on the magazine’s Top 10 Albums list. Find out who else made the cut.
1. American Saturday Night by Brad Paisley
2. Bitte Orca by Dirty Projectors
3. Crack the Skye by Mastodon
4. Revolution by Miranda Lambert
5. Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix by Phoenix
6. Love vs. Money by The-Dream
7. Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, Pt. 2 by Raekwon
8. Veckatimest by Grizzly Bear
9. I and Love and You by the Avett Brothers
10. The Fame Monster by Lady Gaga

LMAO That list is a joke. Dream’s album is ok, but not ‘top 10′ or Grammy worthy, honestly. He needs to get over himself… & stick to producing…

this has got to be a joke… TIME magazine obviously has no idea what constitutes a top album!!!

i dont think they go by album sales but the level of production and content. a song can be a great hit but be actual trash. being critically acclaimed helps. thats why most of the popular albums u hear about or have on ur shelf are not on here. go gaga!

I give them some credibility because they have my man Raekwon up there for OB4CL2. Classic and Real Music.

Time Magazine needs to get their shit together. Only 2 of those belong on there. Raekwon!? That is absolute rubbish. Time is clearly missing the bigger picture here.

I’m pretty pissed that Maxwell is not the list or that his album didn’t get nominated for Album of the Year! His album was better than everyone’s in that category.

WTF!!!!! This album was had nowhere near the same quality as his first album; AND WHERE IS MAXWELL? Seriously the DREAM for one of the best albums of 2009 (R&B at that?)
I co-sign with Ghetto Star. This list isn’t even representative of the new talent that was 2009.

I think that The-Dream deserves to be on that list. I don’t think people realize how talented this guy really is. He writes and composes his own music as well as many of the hits you all listen to on a daily (Beyonce’s ‘Single Ladies’, ‘Touch My Body’ by Mariah Carey, ‘Umbrella’ by Rihanna, ‘Just Fine’ by Mary J. Blige, among others)–that speaks volumes. More power to him!

mastodons crack the skye is a timeless masterpiece. im almost upset that its on this list considering everything is garbage but the fact that its getting recognized amongst such mainstream music when the album is the furthest thing from mainstream is pretty damn impressive.
