Yesterday we shared our 10 favorite music videos of the year and now we’re giving you something else to debate. The Rap-Up.com staff has selected its 10 best albums of 2009. Our choices were all released during the period of January 1, 2009 and December 30, 2009. The list includes a comeback queen, a couple freshmen, and the self-proclaimed best rapper alive.

Seriously, WTF? Officer Ricky, over-hyped Drake and ego-tripping The Dream? The Dream’s album was just decent. To me, LvsM was just one big song. Hell Rihanna’s Rated R had more creativity. Keri Hilson had an incredible album. IAPW should have been in the top 5! Even though I found Alicia’s album to be really repetitive, it was definitely better than some here. Maxwell, Ciara and Mariah? I get that MJB released within the last week and all, but it’s still 2009!

The list is good until i saw chrisette michelles album. The album was good but definately not good enough to be on this list. Im so glad Ameries In Love and War is on this list because it is without a doubt the best female r&b album to come out in 2009. sidenote to Rap-up: Drakes so far gone is not an album it is an EP so that does not count, even though it did sound like an album it was not a full length album so u should take it off and replace it with another album.

Rihanna album sucks so of course it didn’t make the list. Amerie’s Love & War should’ve been in the top 5, Rick Ross had the best rap album this year, The-Dream had the best male R&B album this year and Chrisette Michele’s album is very good, yet underrated.

That’s a solid Top 10 list. With all the albums that came out this year, it’s hard to pick JUST 10 so I don’t know what people are making a big fuss about. I’m glad you guys included Melanie Fiona and Robin Thicke’s albums on that list because they are definitely some of the best.

People need to stop hating on Whitney, i think her album was one of the best albums in the last 5 years. There isn’t one song on “I Look to You” that i don’t like.

I agree with Rap-Up’s list but i would replace Rick Ross, Robin Thicke and Drake’s mixtape with Kid Cudi, Eminem and Mariah Carey’s albums.

I really don’t know what people been listening to this past year but it probably shouldn’t be nothing but three albums considered great albums and two of them are not on the list. those two r Beyonce (no homo) how u drop six number one singles off an album and nominated for ten grammys and not be number one and the other is Trey Songs bc its a really great album.

“The END” by BLACK EYED PEAS is one of a kind generic hit-album.

“The Fame Monster” is good but doesn’t deserve to be in top 5

“Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel” meanwhile is well, sucks!

“Relapse” by Eminem is a disappointing album

“Sex Theraphy” by Robin Thicke is stellar but not of the best.

Missing from the list is
Maxwell
Kid Cudi
Keri Hilson
and Alicia Keys!
