Rap-Up.com || Mariah Carey’s ‘Angels’ Grounded ’Til March

Mariah Carey will have to wait to spread her wings. The flight of her Angels Advocate remix album has been delayed until March.

Previously scheduled for a February 23 release, the project will now hit stores on March 9, according to MariahDailyJournal. The album features remixes of songs from last year’s Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel, including “Angels Cry” with Ne-Yo and “Up Out My Face” with Nicki Minaj.

The singer-turned-actress is expected to attend this Sunday’s Golden Globe Awards to support the cast of Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire, which is nominated for three trophies. The 67th annual show will air live on NBC at 8 p.m. EST/5 p.m. PST.

As a fan I say whatever works but at the same time I would like to take some time away from the lights camera action enjoy life a bit. Then come back fresh and reloaded and work with producers that can give her variety and write from her heart again and take the game by storm again. Like she did with the debut, Musicbox, Daydream, Butterfly and of course The Emancipation of Mimi albums. But overall imo she has a strong and solid catalouge. That is not just based upon sales, also still loving and appreciating memiors.

I am definitely excited about Angels Advocate but this project makes me a little sad as well. I think MOAIA was a brilliant album. It wasn’t as good as Music Box or Daydream, but I still think it was one of the best RnB albums of the year. Instead of moving on to this remix album, she should still be releasing singles from MOAIA. However, I do understand the strategy since MOAIA seems to be virtually dead at this point.

And by the way, does anybody know why she stopped working with Walter Afanasieff?? He co-wrote and/or co-produced some of her greatest songs like Hero, Always Be My Baby, Dreamlover, Can’t Let Go. I would love for her to create some more songs like that.

Missed Angels Advocate concert here in Phoenix so disappointed but sure the new album will be better than what I have heard.Mariah always amazes me with how she always seems to make her next album better than the last.
