Ludacris Spars with Female Rappers on ‘Battle of the Sexes’![]() Ludacris is waging an all-out war with the opposite sex. The Atlanta rapper has challenged some of female rap’s biggest stars to a battle on his new album.
Lil’ Kim, Eve, Trina, and Nicki Minaj are among those getting in the ring with the Grammy winner on his seventh studio album Battles of the Sexes, due March 16. Previously planned as a joint album with femcee Shawnna, the set will also include appearances from Ne-Yo, Ciara, Flo Rida, and Plies. “There’s never really been an album with a male rapper and a female rapper together going head-to-head on different issues, mostly relationship issues,” Ludacris told Rap-Up.com last year. Bangladesh, Swizz Beatz, and J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League have all contributed to the project. “How Low,” the first single off the follow-up to 2008′s Theater of the Mind, is already No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. A video directed by Dave Myers debuted last week. TweetYou can leave a response, or trackback from your own site. 31 CommentsLeave a Reply

Nice! A missy Colab would have be nice to. I must say this album seems pretty interesting, and I wonder Ne-yo and Ciara are the only singers on the album, but will they actually be singing or rapping?

YAS! First of all Luda and Ciara have crazy chemistry. They are life-time collaborators. You don’t see too many of those these days. This album sound promising. I love everything Ne-Yo touches… I wish Missy was on board though…

I am looking forward to this album – this just might be the jumpstart that Luda needs, because his music was starting to sound the same (which is not a completely bad thing, considering that he has rarely ever made a bad song).
On a different note – Luda can’t seem do right by Shawnna to save his life. I was excited about this album, because it would have finally given Shawnna a chance to show her skills on a larger platform; but with the addition of a number of other female rappers, despite the fact she might have them all faded skill-wise, their stardom will definitely make it difficult for her to get her shine on!!! Either way, I am sure that this will be a fun album.

The whole concept is very cool but how come “How Low” is the first single off of the album? The song doesn’t feature any female rappers/singers and doesn’t have anything to do with the “battle of the sexes”.
